About project

Project Summary:

This Project aims is to increase community awareness in participating on Education quality improvement Programs and fill ownership for schools properties in their area.

Under financial support from the Cambridge Education-Tanzania through the Foundation for Civil Society, KAYD implemented this project under Education Quality Improvement Program Tanzania (EQUIP-T) and managed to reach all 60 villages in Kasulu district, Kigoma region as planned.

Activities Planned and performed by KAYD were divided into 2 phases; namely those at Ward Level and those at the Village level. For the first phase at Ward level were as follows:

  • Contact villages in ward
  • Identify Community Facilitators (CF)
  • Arrange and deliver training to CFs
  • Report on Training

For the second phase at Village level KAYD implemented the following:

  • Support CFs to mobilise community meetings
  • Support CFs to run village meetings
  • Produce and finalize reports for each village

Through this project implementation, community attended village meetings and managed to identify problems, changing problems to the needs and set-up Action Plans for implementation.

Some of villages have collected some construction materials which available locally like stones, brick, timbers, etc. and some of them started constructing classrooms, toilets, making desks, etc. as their efforts to participate in improving Education quality in their schools.

KAYD appreciates for financial support received from Cambridge Education Tanzania through FCS which enabled us to meet one of our objectives.

KAYD inviting Stakeholders interesting to support the efforts of the community members in Kasulu district to improve the education quality for future and sustainable development.
